Job Summary
Conduct clinical optometric procedures and act as a patient during standardized licensure examinations. Perform specific skills including biomicroscopy, tonometry, gonioscopy, and fundus evaluation while maintaining a highly standardized testing environment. Serve as a proctor for injection, laser, and surgical procedure exams when requested. Properly complete pre- and post-testing checklists, clean equipment per protocols, and assess candidate performance against established scoring criteria. Maintain strict confidentiality of secure exam materials and report any testing abnormalities promptly. Participate during the testing season from August through May, with a typical weekly commitment of 12-20 hours between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable form of transportation
- Strong attention to detail in testing procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to provide feedback on candidate performance
- Adherence to exam video and audio recording protocols
- Team-oriented with flexibility to support organizational needs
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills
- Must be comfortable using an electronic device to perform job-related duties
