Job Summary
Part-Time elementary special education teacher responsible for managing a self-contained classroom, serving students with diverse abilities including those with high needs and those requiring social/emotional support. Must hold the appropriate certification and demonstrate proficiency in the IEP writing process, regularly monitor student progress aligned with IEP goals, assess instructional and behavioral needs, plan and oversee meaningful assignments for students, and foster collaborative relationships with IEP team members and parents. The Forsyth R-III School District operates on a four-day school week, primarily Tuesday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Special Education certification
- experience with IEP writing process (preferred)
- ability to monitor progress toward IEP goals
- planning and overseeing meaningful assignments
- collaborative skills with IEP team and parents
