Job Summary
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information against bills of lading, invoices, and orders. Prepare shipping labels and bar codes, affix postage, and create advanced shipping notices on external customer websites. Operate tier lift trucks or hand trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the platform to storage areas. Assemble cardboard containers, insert items, and bind with metal bands as necessary. Unpack and examine incoming shipments to reject damaged items and record shortages, then route items to appropriate departments. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies while processing transactions in Made 2 Manage daily.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- knowledge of Made 2 Manage Inventory software
- Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to frequently walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
