Job Summary
Part-time Shelter Advocate in Charleston, IL shelter providing advocacy and emotional support to victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. Responsibilities include crisis hotline coverage, completing intakes and orientation, reviewing safety and goal plans, documenting interactions, conducting house meetings, room checks, providing advocacy/referrals, enforcing shelter policies, reporting emergencies, managing supplies, and assisting with fundraisers and general office duties. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 40‐hour domestic violence training, and successful background check; must maintain confidentiality. Roles include overnight weekday shifts and weekend/even holiday coverage. Pay starts at $18.50/hr and is $20/hr for 3+ shifts per week.
