Part Time Senior Tech - Travel

Job Summary

Support Oculoplastic physicians by managing patient flow, coordinating administrative tasks, and performing phone triage. Conduct comprehensive pre-examination testing including visual acuity, OCT, fundus photography, and advanced diagnostic procedures like IOL Master and Pentacam. Scribe clinical encounters in the electronic medical record, administer ocular medications, and track laboratory results to ensure continuity of care. Maintain exam rooms, clean equipment, and adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Travel between multiple locations including Smithtown, Little Neck, Bethpage, and Rockville Centre on a rotating schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Skilled in problem-solving with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in computer use, ranging from basic to advanced tasks
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be willing to travel between the Smithtown, Little Neck, Bethpage, Babylon, Rockville Centre locations
  • Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) required or must be obtained within 45 days of hire
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification required, or candidate must be actively enrolled with completion expected within two (2) years of hire
