Part Time Security Officer

Job Summary
Patrol hospital property to ensure safety for patients, visitors, and staff while handling and monitoring individuals exhibiting violent behavior. Respond to security alerts, fires, and disasters including Levels I through IV, and enforce parking policies. Investigate security incidents, document findings on incident reports, and maintain daily activity logs. Lock and unlock campus buildings and perform hazardous patient decontamination procedures, including setting up decontamination systems and disposing of contaminated waste. Demonstrate competence in verbal de-escalation and physical restraint as part of the security alert team. Work rotating weekends and holidays on the third shift from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in lieu of diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Driving record accepted by the Network Insurance Carrier
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays as assigned
- Ability to work the third shift (10:45PM to 07:15AM)
- Ability to sit for up to eight (8) hour/day, four (4) hour at a time
- Ability to stand for up to eight (8) hours/day, 4 hours at a time
- Ability to walk for up to eight (8) hours/day, 4 hours at a time
- Ability to handle and grip firmly in moving equipment
- Ability to lift, carry, push and walk objects weighing in excess of 200 pounds with assistance if needed
- Ability to stoop/bend, crouching, and reach above shoulder level
- Normal hearing as it relates to normal conversation
- General vision and color vision
- Depth perception
