Part Time/Seasonal Park Maintenance

Job Summary
Maintain and repair park properties and equipment while performing turf maintenance, playground construction, and janitorial duties including trash pickup, snow removal, and painting. Keep vehicles, tools, and buildings in good operating condition, and assist in construction of new and existing park areas. Support the Park Operations Manager and full-time staff in supervising part-time and temporary personnel. Perform a variety of labor tasks as directed, including ball field maintenance, tree planting, and shop cleaning, while adhering to safety policies and reporting hazards. Work flexible hours in all weather conditions, wearing required protective gear.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Must use good safety awareness and judgment
- Must be able to use personal protective equipment based on job specific tasks
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Knowledge of the internet

- Experience in grounds maintenance
