Job Summary
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to assess students' fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school-based skills. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals while providing direct services to K-8 students, with a focus on supporting those in ASD classrooms. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers to promote student success. Recommend adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and sensory strategies to improve participation in school routines. Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and complete required Medicaid and IEP paperwork. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute meaningful recommendations regarding student needs and services.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current or eligible Michigan Occupational Therapist licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
