Part Time School Bus Driver

Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus using the Daily Bus Inspection form, maintaining clean exterior mirrors and interior spaces. Operate the bus safely while obeying state traffic laws, school board regulations, and defensive driving principles to maintain discipline and report route hazards. Perform at least one evacuation drill per semester, documenting procedures in the checklist log, and complete all required reports on bus discipline, maintenance, and incidents. Maintain routes and schedules as planned by the local school board while ensuring student safety during loading and unloading.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age
- HS diploma or GED
- valid Class A or B with a "P" and "S" endorsement
- meet vision and hearing requirements
- acceptable driving record
- be insurable
- pass background and pre-employment drug screen
- agree to one mandatory drug test as part of the hiring process
- agree to random test(s) and post accident testing
- be tested if recommended by the driver's supervisor
