Job Summary
Conduct routine facility inspections, perform hazard identification, and track corrective actions to ensure site compliance with OSHA, EPA, and customer requirements. Assist with regulatory reporting, coordinate safety training on PPE, LOTO, and hazard communication, and support incident investigations and root-cause analysis. Oversee contractor safety adherence and participate in continuous improvement projects and safety committees. This part-time onsite role supports a contract manufacturing facility producing personal care products in Lake Forest, IL, working up to 20 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 1–3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and basic environmental compliance
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with production teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic EHS reporting tools
- Must be able to work onsite for up to 20 hours per week depending on audit cycles and customer requirements
- Associate degree
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, or HAZWOPER are beneficial
