Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and clean facilities, grounds, and equipment for Ford Ice Centers operations. Set up and disassemble hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, and locker rooms. Prepare ice for practices and games by removing debris, checking depths, and scraping and edging. Perform pre/post event inspections using standardized checklists and conduct preventative maintenance on department equipment. Work in a fast-paced environment with long, irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Handle heavy lifting up to 75 pounds and climb ladders while using hand and power tools.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age or older
- Able to follow written and oral instructions and complete standardized checklist forms
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work well with others, as well as independently
- Ability to work long and/or irregular hours including nights, mornings, weekends and holidays
- Subject to a background check, including criminal history check, driving history, and character references
- Good physical condition and health, sufficient strength and stamina needed for heavy, awkward and repeated lifting of up to 75 pounds
- Capable of performing heavy manual labor for an extended period
- Ability to climb portable and fixed ladders
- Ability to access remote areas of the facility
- Ability to work with and around water and ice and to work at or below freezing temperatures for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate via portable radio
