Job Summary
Prepare and maintain indoor ice rinks and associated areas of the athletic complex for various programs. Operate routine preventative maintenance on ice making equipment, including resurfacers and edgers, and perform repairs during and after the skating season. Clean Plexiglas shields, boards, and facility areas such as restrooms, team rooms, and locker rooms; sweep, wash, and mop floors while managing trash and supplies. Secure and lockup rinks after rentals and events, shovel snow at entrances, and assist emergency personnel during injuries. Work seasonal hours from mid-September to mid-March, Monday through Saturday, with Sunday shifts as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs in cold, wet conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50lbs without assistance
- Ability to work in cold temperatures in the rink and work on wet, slippery ice
- Successfully complete a criminal background check
- Clean Driving record (reviewed annually)
- Must consistently wear assigned uniform and equipment and adhere to the appearance guidelines
- May be required to handle hazardous materials in the work area
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with rink operations
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting
