Job Summary
Part-time Residential Counselor duties include fostering a positive, therapeutic living environment; ensuring morning, afternoon, evening, and bedtime routines; following activity schedules and planning/participating in activities to support child development; redirecting inappropriate behavior; maintaining a safe, clean environment; understanding each child’s treatment plan and assisting in goal attainment; completing daily documentation (e.g., commination book, Night Log, Incident Reports, Work Orders); providing high-quality updates to the treatment team; transporting and supervising children to appointments; distributing prescribed medications as directed by Medical Staff; communicating effectively; attending team meetings and in-service trainings; and performing duties professionally with clients and staff. Education requirements vary by level (Residential Counselor I: High School Diploma; Residential Counselor II: Bachelor's Degree in Human Service field). Experience requirements specify one year in relevant settings; additional qualifications include a valid driver’s license and being at least 21 years old. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

- Residential Counselor I requires 1 year of experience with children in Mental Health or Residential Care programs; Residential Counselor II requires 1 year of experience; valid driver’s license; 21+ years of age.
