Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist III (Part-time, weekends) provides advanced respiratory care in critical care settings, including ventilator management, airway management, and administration of aerosolized medications and oxygen therapies. Responsibilities include patient assessments, collaboration with the care team, verifying orders, patient and family education, staff mentoring, and participation in performance improvement. Requires an accredited respiratory therapy program graduate with an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and several core certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and related instructor/provisional credentials) with 0-2 years of clinical experience, including critical care exposure. Location specified as Cincinnati, OH. Location-specific duties include invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. This role emphasizes safety, accurate charting, and ongoing professional development. The position is part-time and on night shift, with weekend coverage, at Cobb Hospital within the Wellstar system.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree (A.S. degree) required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- Respiratory Care Practitioner required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- BLS Instructor required
- BLS Provisional required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required

- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care required
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking, teamwork, and computer skills
