Job Summary
Part-Time Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) provides medication administration and implements respiratory care in a critical care setting, with ventilator management, weaning, arterial blood gas sampling/analysis, aerosolized therapies, oxygen/medical gas therapy, and airway management (intubation/extubation/trach care). The role includes patient and family education, coordination with the health care team, student/peer mentorship, and participation in education and quality initiatives. Requires NBRC-RRT and recognized respiratory therapy credentials; certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS/NRP and related instructor options) and a minimum of 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care; strong communication, assessment, and computer skills are essential. Location: Atlanta, GA within Wellstar Health System.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Respiratory Therapy or Associates Respiratory Therapy-Required
- NBRC-RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or NRP-I
- RCP - Respiratory Care Professional
- 0-2 years clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking skills, establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
