Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II in NICU at Cobb Hospital works part-time nights delivering advanced respiratory care in a neonatal intensive care setting. Responsibilities include medication administration and implementing respiratory care per protocol, ventilator management and weaning, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, airway management (including intubation/extubation/trach care), patient and family education, staff mentoring, and collaborating with the health care team to provide safe, high-quality care. The role supports education of students and new employees, while maintaining accurate documentation, electronic orders, and adherence to safety and performance-improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Required Minimum Education: Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications required upon hire including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP or NRP variants, NBRC-RRT, RCP, and related instructor certifications as applicable
- Required Minimum Experience: 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Required Minimum Skills: Communication, critical thinking, teamwork with physicians and health care professionals, computer skills including databases
