Job Summary
Part Time Receptionist role for Ypsilanti Community Schools tasked with providing full-spectrum administrative support to the Building Principal, including scheduling, correspondence, greeting visitors, routing callers, handling inquiries, and maintaining confidential records. Responsibilities include preparation of presentations and reports, budget tracking, calendar management, travel arrangements, data entry, maintaining program records, assisting with student accounting and reporting, answering routine questions, representing administration professionally, coordinating conferences, and supporting various district initiatives. Requires strong organizational skills, professional communication, ability to multi-task in a busy school office, proficiency with Microsoft Office and data handling, and a flexible schedule with potential morning/afternoon/evening hours. Education/Experience: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred; minimum three years of secretarial experience in a confidential environment, preferably in a public school. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associates Degree required
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible secretarial experience in a position with significant exposure to confidential material, preferably in a public school environment
- Typing 55 words per minute
- Pass general secretarial skills test
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to type 55 wpm
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations and forms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software) and other technology to support office operation
- Experience with Microsoft Excel; Publisher desired
- Strong data entry skills and grammar
- Ability to integrate technology into everyday workflow
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
