Job Summary
Administer, pour, pass, and document all routinely prescribed medications per physician orders and state regulations, ensuring the five rights are observed. Order medications from the pharmacy seven days prior to depletion and notify the Wellness Director immediately if stock is low. Record vital signs prior to administration, observe and report reactions or side effects, and document all PRN medications given. Assist with daily care tasks including toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, and moving residents while ensuring their privacy, safety, and dignity. Report any medication errors or unsafe conditions to the Wellness Director instantly.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of state approved Medication Administration training
- First Aid certification as required by the ALF regulations
- QMAP in the state of CO
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience administering medication in an assisted living setting
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc.
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions
- Must show good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of a resident's change in condition
- Must be capable of making decisions with the interest of the residents at heart
- Must be supportive of company policies and decisions
- Must attend monthly in-service education and training within the community
- Minimum three years' experience in senior living
- Passion to work with seniors
- Previous experience with an Assisted Living community
Desired Qualifications
- Some previous experience in health-care
- Experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record
- Experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care
