Job Summary
Monitor assigned posts and surrounding areas to ensure the safety and security of the facility, employees, guests, clients, and visitors at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Respond immediately to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, alarms, and other situations requiring public safety involvement. Assist with crowd management, access control, line control, and enforcement of facility rules, policies, and procedures during events and daily operations. Conduct routine interior and exterior property patrols to identify potential safety, security, or maintenance concerns. Lock and unlock facility doors, gates, offices, and operational areas as required by event and building schedules. Maintain awareness of emergency exits, evacuation procedures, fire alarm systems, and facility safety protocols. Provide customer service and general assistance to guests, including directions, event information, and support with facility-related questions. Communicate effectively via two-way radio, telephone, and in-person interaction with staff, management, emergency responders, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year of public safety or security experience, preferably in a similar environment
- Customer service background or equivalent work experience
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Good communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work with the public and professionally handle confrontational situations
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to work flexible and irregular hours, including weekends and nights
- Must have professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed
