Job Summary
Part-Time Psychotherapist responsible for providing psychological assessment and treatment to survivors of torture and their family members, conducting individual and group therapy sessions, and assisting clients with political asylum claims when necessary. Requires MA or PhD/PsyD, license eligibility in Minnesota, and at least 1 year of experience with trauma survivors. Preferred qualifications include active Minnesota licensure and prior experience with refugees or asylum seekers. Strong emphasis on teamwork, documentation, community representation, and maintaining confidentiality. Must demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to human rights work.
Required Qualifications
- MA or PhD/PsyD in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- License-eligible as an LP, LICSW or LMFT in Minnesota
- 1+ years of experience providing mental health services, including treatment of survivors of trauma
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed as an LP, LICSW or LMFT in Minnesota
- At least 3 years of post-degree experience providing psychological services, including treatment of survivors of trauma
- Experience working professionally with refugees, asylum seekers or immigrants
- Experience providing psychological services via an interpreter
- Fluent in Somali
- Knowledge of evidence-based and relationship-based therapy models
- Formal training and experience in clinical mental health assessment, including the use of measures in practice and/or research
