Job Summary
Operate air compressors, production roasting machines, and sample roasters while logging roast curve data on the Cropster application. Maintain safety protocols by removing chaff, replacing barrel liners, and lifting weights up to 150lbs, then report machine issues to the Director of Roasting for quick resolution. Calibrate your palate through group tasting exercises with the Education department to investigate brewing behavior and uphold a culture of respect during daily cuppings. Keep work areas tidy, organize Rainforest Alliance certified coffees on elevated surfaces, and assist the production crew in expediting order fulfillment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to focus on small details within a task without interaction or supervision
- Ability to shift between working collaboratively (sharing goals with the roasting & production team) and working independently (while actively roasting)
- Self-motivated: find meaning and value in repetitive tasks and physical labor
- Patient and kind with yourself and your teammates
- Must be able and willing to lift or move weights up to 100-150lbs (assisted)
- Ability to work standing and moving in a non-climate controlled environment

- English
- Safety (equipment, food) and/or efficiency training (forklift, OSHA compliance, HACCP, etc)
- Coffee and tasting experience
