Job Summary
Generate original ideas, conduct thorough research, and assist with contacting and scheduling guests for live and pre-recorded radio shows featuring news, music, talk, sports, traffic, and feature productions. Give direction to presenters, manage budgets, and obtain necessary permissions and licenses for recording or broadcasting. Monitor listener inquiries, perform quality assurance against established standards, and utilize broadcasting technologies such as soundboards and editing software. Schedule and monitor the radio stream during live recordings, while managing time-keeping, archiving show files, and executing post-production editing as directed. This seasonal part-time role in Sacramento, CA, offers an hourly rate of $16.90 to $18.00.
Required Qualifications
- Creative mindset with the ability to formulate and communicate original ideas
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platforms
- Knowledge of the radio market, different station/program styles, audience demographics
- Experience using a variety of recording equipment and operating a radio studio
- Ability to build rapport and draw information from people
- Confidence and tenacity to pursue information, overcome obstacles and pitch ideas to senior colleagues
- Stress tolerance with ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and to react quickly to changes
- Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Full knowledge of the law, rules and industry regulations around radio productions
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint as well as social media platforms
