Job Summary
Part-Time Probation & Pre-Trial Support Assistant provides a wide range of office routines and case-support tasks under Probation Officers, including reviewing court orders, gathering information for cases, creating reports, data entry, document editing and directing offenders to appropriate agencies. Responsibilities include assisting with a caseload of offenders, scheduling appointments, taking testimony in court when required, maintaining case files and preparing forms and petitions, while adhering to department rules and confidentiality. Must be flexible with work hours to accommodate offender appointments, court-related activities, and office coverage. Requires knowledge of probation functions, ability to use computers/software, strong written and oral communication, time management, organization, and the ability to work with offenders, the public, lawyers, and judges. Education/experience requirements include at least one year of specialized training beyond high school, three years of relevant work experience, and certification requirements including Notary and ongoing trainings.
Required Qualifications
- One year of specialized training beyond high school
- Three years relevant work experience
- Must obtain and maintain Security Awareness Training, Revenue Recap Training and Notary
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
