Job Summary
Part-time/PRN Dietary Cook responsible for preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines, portion control, and special dietary needs; read and interpret recipes/menus/production sheets; manage food ordering, inventory, and health regulations; maintain food safety and sanitation practices; operate and coordinate kitchen activities with residents, families, and facility staff; contributes to care team's goals and resident satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Experience & Knowledge: At least one year of institutional cooking experience, preferably in long-term care or hospital settings
- Proficiency in quantity cooking, portion control, and understanding modified diets
- Ability to read and interpret recipes, menus, and production sheets, with familiarity in food ordering, purchasing, and health regulations
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and department heads while adhering to state health and safety standards
