Job Summary
Greet guests promptly, prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, and take orders into the POS system for timely delivery. Check identification to verify legal drinking age, monitor guest behavior, and refuse service when necessary while alerting management. Handle all payment transactions, balance the cash drawer, and maintain cleanliness of the bar area. Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and glassware throughout the shift. Follow opening, shift-change, and closing procedures while communicating with servers, kitchen staff, and the front desk. Support hotel events or banquets as needed. Work evening and night shifts on weekends and holidays, standing and walking for long periods in a busy environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the minimum legal age to serve alcohol in Louisiana
- Required local certifications (e.g., responsible alcohol service, food handler) as applicable
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay calm under pressure
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Long periods of standing and walking
- Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25–40 lbs (cases, kegs, boxes)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or bar preferred
- Knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with POS systems preferred
