Part-Time Peer Specialist

Provide in-person individualized support to individuals with mental health diagnoses or substance use issues, serving as a role model, mentor, and advocate to prevent relapse. Establish trusting relationships based on mutuality and unconditional positive regard during community outreach and meetings, while sharing personal experiences to foster hope. Support clients in developing person-centered recovery plans and coordinate services through collaboration with staff, providers, and family members. Assist clients with entitlements and concrete services via telephone and written correspondence. Requires a High School Diploma, CRPA or NYCPS certification, and two years of recovery-oriented experience. Full-time on-site role at a nationally recognized Health and Human Services Agency serving over 33,000 New Yorkers annually.
