Job Summary
Answer phones and work on computers to intake patient information in a busy hospital registration environment. Collect details across multiple screens between physician and nurse check-ins while typing quickly to match patient speech speeds. Listen with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions, building rapport by asking follow-up questions in real time. Assist patients who may be very ill or worried, often working around clinicians interrupting for emergent clinical care. Expect variation in health plans and coverage requiring knowledge gained through training. You must be a confident multi-tasker prepared to see illness and injuries, with training provided for all necessary procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
