Part Time Patient Care Assistant

Job Summary
Welcome patients and families, escort them to exam rooms, and obtain histories while measuring vital signs and documenting information in the electronic medical record. Assist with check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying demographic and insurance details. Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment while adhering to infection prevention and sterilization procedures. Maintain patient records and protected health information in accordance with HIPAA requirements, communicating professionally with patients, families, providers, and coworkers. Support daily practice operations through administrative projects and other duties as assigned. New hires must attend orientation during the first week of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to meet Capital Area Pediatrics' immunization and health screening requirements
- Ability to understand, follow, and carry out verbal and written instructions
Desired Qualifications
- Enrollment in a healthcare-related degree program
- Previous patient experience/customer service experience
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
