Job Summary
Support the classroom teacher and provide one-on-one tutoring for Title I identified students across grades 1-5 in all four curricular content areas. Assist with curriculum implementation, explain expectations, and provide positive guidance to students while maintaining dignity and respect. Help with personal care needs and assist with basic technology tasks. Work Monday through Friday when instruction is in session, up to 29 hours per week, at a starting wage of $16/hour. Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, attend early literacy trainings, and be highly qualified with at least two years of college coursework or an Associate's degree.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with early literacy instruction
- Willingness to attend trainings during the school year
- Highly Qualified status
- At least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits
- Associate's Degree or higher
- ParaPro Assessment qualifying score of 460+
- Proven organization and time management skills
- Dependable Attendance
- Ability to explain curriculum expectations following directive from teacher
- Ability to work professionally with staff, students, parents and other providers
- Ability to provide positive guidance to students in a manner that communicates dignity and respect
- Basic understanding of technology
- Ability to assist with personal care needs
- Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
- Some lifting may be required
- Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
- Must be able to remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace
Desired Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred; willing to be provided training)
