Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care for inpatient and outpatient populations, performing therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures while coordinating with supervising physicians. Evaluate treatment plans for effectiveness, prescribe medications and therapies per protocol, and facilitate patient admission, discharge, and continuity of care. Monitor cost effectiveness, participate in clinical research studies, and collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to develop therapeutic plans. Educate patients and families, provide consultation to nursing staff, and contribute to quality improvement and practice standards. Maintain board certification and annual CME requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Physician Assistant Lic-NYS
- Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst
- Basic Life Support Cert
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a physician assistant or physician assistant fellowship experience
- At least 2 years of clinical rotation in various medical, surgical and other specialty areas
- Membership in professional specialty organizations
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
