Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role as Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. The couple resides in on-campus student homes and provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a consistent student home. Schedule initially follows nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with on-site benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and comprehensive health/retirement benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to live and work with a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
