Job Summary
Teach up to three students simultaneously in English reading, writing, and elementary math, following Oxford Learning's proprietary methodologies. Deliver individual academic support to learners from Kindergarten through Grade 8, focusing on improving study habits and building self-confidence. Document daily progress by filling post-lesson notes and completing student communication updates while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor. Work in-person at the South Surrey location during weekday after-school, evening, and Saturday shifts, with flexible scheduling to accommodate university commitments.
Required Qualifications
- strong passion for seeing students succeed
- comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in English
- strong background in spoken and written English
- comfortable teaching up to Grade 8
- Vulnerable sector screening
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the South Surrey area
- Working towards a bachelor's degree or similar certification and/or experience in a relevant field
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Experience tutoring/teaching
