Job Summary
Ophthalmic Technician (OT) needed for Ottawa Ophthalmology Eye Clinic; part-time, on-site role. Responsibilities include managing opening/closing of the clinic, taking medical histories, instructing patients on medications/tests, administering topical ophthalmic medications, operating ophthalmic equipment (OCT, tonometer), measuring visual acuity, sterilizing instruments, assisting physicians with procedures, performing data entry, and ensuring rooms and inventory are ready for patients. Ideal candidates have strong multitasking and organizational skills, excellent verbal communication and bedside manner, experience with EMRs and MS Office, and familiarity with diagnostic tools such as IOLMaster, OCT, topography, refraction, slit lamp, lensometry, auto-refraction, and fundus photography. The salary range is hourly at $23-$25, with benefits and an emphasis on a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.
