Job Summary
Produce daily newscasts by deciding story order, writing teases, and timing broadcasts across all media platforms. Manage workflow with the team, assign reporters, and troubleshoot live issues while ensuring FCC and station compliance. Edit video using non-linear programs and write detailed web platform stories. Lead less-experienced staff and respond to breaking news with urgency. Work overnight shifts from 12:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for Nexstar Media Group, a leading diversified media company producing content for over 220 million people.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field of equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum two years' experience working in news
- Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
- Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
- Proficient in non-linear editing
- Ability to multi-task, and work in demanding, high-pressure situations
- Must maintain a professional work appearance and conduct themselves as a professional
- Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff
