Job Summary
Conduct newborn hearing screenings on all infants in the nursery and NICU prior to discharge, utilizing Transient Otoacoustic Emissions and/or Automatic Auditory Brainstem Response. Coordinate post-discharge follow-up care and maintain database management while analyzing responses to problem situations. Work directly with nursing staff, patients, and parents to communicate the relevance of screening and early intervention. Maintain screening equipment and uphold compliance policies. This part-time role at East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, SC, offers approximately 10 hours per week starting at 9 AM, with a pay rate of $16.00/hour plus a weekend differential. Extensive training is provided, and the position supports the company's mission to identify hearing loss early to prevent speech and language delays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to attend all company provided training
- Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment
- Ability to walk and stand for 2–6-hour shifts
- Push and pull screening cart 95 – 100% of shift
- Must be able to move or lift 25 pounds
- Clear seven (7) year background check including criminal history and education verification
- Verifiable prior employment including title and dates of hire
- Must pass Drug Test
- Bloodwork required to verify immunization Titers
- Wellness Vaccinations as required based upon hospital location, including Flu Vaccination
- COVID vaccinations where required according to the local, state, and federal laws
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) or more years of healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college curriculum
