Job Summary
Part-time Middle School Learning Specialist to support Bernard Zell students with direct instruction, accommodations, and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities include planning and delivering daily instruction and interventions, modifying the general curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, collaborating with Student Services and teachers, supporting literacy, math, and executive functioning, and providing consultation to teachers and parents. Travel up to 5% may be requested. Requires Bachelor’s degree, Illinois Teaching certificate, and special education endorsement; minimum 2 years of teaching experience and expertise in multi-sensory literacy interventions; onsite work in Chicago, IL. Compensation range: $26,534–$40,506 annually. Benefits include EAP, PTO, tuition remission, meals, 403(b).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Illinois Teaching certificate required
- Degree, endorsement, and/or coursework in special education required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience required
- Experience with diverse learners required
- Knowledge and experience with evidence-based, multi-sensory literacy interventions
