Part time Medication Aide / QMAP - Evening

Job Summary

Set up medications, pass them to residents, and perform narcotic counts following established policies. Order pharmacy medications, check MARs for errors, and pull expired drugs for destruction. Administer treatments, take vital signs, weigh residents, and document medical changes and unusual occurrences. Assist with activities of daily living, showers, grooming, dressing, toileting, and basic cleaning. Escort residents to dining, serve meals, answer call lights, and provide tours to potential residents. Maintain confidentiality, communicate with families and staff, and make rounds to ensure resident safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification in medication administration
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must be able to lift residents in excess of 100 pounds with assistance
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach
  • Must be able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to handle objects up to 20 pounds frequently
  • Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and disabled
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise
  • Ability to work in stressful situations with residents, families, visitors, and other staff
  • Must have knowledge and skills to administer medications safely
  • Must be knowledgeable of the location of the SDS sheets on hazardous materials
  • Must be able to understand the guidelines for hazardous materials
  • Must be able to work in a part-time evening shift (2pm to 10pm)
  • Must be able to work weekends
