Part-time Medical Director - Tyler, TX

Job Summary

Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in outpatient clinic settings, prescribe appropriate medications based on assessment, and complete medical documentation per Crossroads standards. Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care, including referrals to other medical providers and community services, and provide injections if needed. Maintain active collaboration with the APP team. Requires MD or DO with active Texas licensure, DEA, and minimum two years in addiction medicine. Target weekly hours are eight, including one day of in-person coverage from 5am to 11am.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Texas medical licensure
  • DEA and authorized to practice medicine in Texas
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in addiction medicine
  • Experience treating patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and/or providing medication for opioid use disorder
  • Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following: Family Practice/Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry
  • Experience in an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), substance use disorder (SUD) treatment setting, addiction medicine practice or similar clinical environment
  • Must meet applicable requirements of the Texas Administrative Code governing Narcotic Treatment Programs and Medical Directors
  • Target weekly hours: 8 hours (in person once a week 5am-11am and admin work no more than 30 minutes 4 days a week)
