Job Summary
Teach up to three students simultaneously in interactive sessions covering English and Math, adhering to pre-planned Oxford Learning methodologies. Deliver instruction both online and in-person while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor. Complete daily student communication updates and post-lesson notes to track progress. Work evenings Monday through Friday and Saturdays, with a preference for year-round commitment through summer. This role supports student self-confidence and academic development within a Canadian supplemental education provider since 1984.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Must be able to commute to this location
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Coquitlam / Burquitlam area
Desired Qualifications
- A commitment for the school year is preferred
- Continuing through the summer is even better
- Teaching certification an asset
