Part-Time Lobby Security Officer

Job Summary
Greet and screen visitors, vendors, and employees at the lobby desk while operating access control systems to issue and verify credentials. Deter misconduct, respond to alarms or distress calls by contacting emergency response teams, and perform periodic patrols of the lobby and surrounding areas to check for hazards or unauthorized persons. Prepare clear incident reports using security software applications and manage radio and telephone communications in a high-pressure environment. Shifts include Thursday Lobby 500 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm and Friday Lobby 201 from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Valid FL Security D License and Driver's License required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid FL Security D License
- Valid FL Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Two years of customer service experience
- One year of security experience
- Law enforcement experience
- Corrections experience
- Military experience
- Ability to operate access control systems
- Ability to utilize a computer for incident reports
- Ability to operate security software systems or applications
- Ability to use email
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional demeanor
- Appearance
- Experience managing multiple tasks
- Experience executing radio and telephone communications
- Ability to perform in a medium to high pressure environment
- Experience with frequently changing and/or competing demands
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
