Job Summary
Join the ASPCA as a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician in Community Medicine, providing essential veterinary care in underserved communities. Seeking motivated candidates with a NY State Vet Tech License and a passion for animal welfare.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
- Graduated from accredited school of veterinary science technology (2- or 4-year program)
- Must be able to lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly
- Strong interest in animal welfare
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work standing for 8 or more hours
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent animal handling skills (cats, dogs)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience using a computer and navigating software applications
- Surgery/Anesthesia experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout the day with assistance
- Must possess excellent animal handling skills
- Must speak fluent English
