Job Summary
Maintain the library and facilitate whole-class and individual student visits while supporting the school's Catholic educational philosophy and Gospel values. Plan instruction with sequenced objectives based on the adopted curriculum, provide learning resources, and use varied assessment tools for formative and summative evaluations. Maintain accurate records, practice positive classroom management, and communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns. Adhere to school policies, procedures, and the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry standards. Work in a fast-paced environment requiring availability to students, parents, and staff, with potential weekend, evening, and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country
- Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
- Knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods and strategies, and curriculum differentiation
- Knowledge of child development, learning, and behavior
- Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period
- Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration
- Must complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of the date of hire, completing a minimum of 25 hours each year
- Must maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, and staff

- Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards
- Will be required to work in multiple educational settings
- Must be able to work on weekends, evenings, and some holidays
- Must be able to travel within and outside the school for meetings and other events, including overnight lodging
- Must be able to use personal or school vehicles to drive to off-site locations
- Must be able to be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Christian prayer and Catholic liturgical celebrations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly
- Must be able to communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns
- Must be able to practice positive, consistent discipline in classroom management
- Must be able to maintain current and accurate records in accordance with school policies
- Must be able to use effective instructional methods and models in accordance with professional standards of practice
- Must be able to use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments
- Must be able to provide instruction and assessment for understanding
- Must be able to provide appropriate materials and resources to help students engage in learning
- Must be able to plan instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on the adopted curriculum, and submit plans according to school policies
- Must be able to support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the school's mission
- Must be able to act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Must be able to support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and to the school's policies and procedures
