Part-time Lecturer-Second Chance Pell Program

Part-time adjunct lecturer for the Second Chance Pell Program teaching a range of disciplines (Accounting, Art, Business, Communication, Economics, English, Environmental Science, First Year Experience, History, Human Services, Mathematics, Oceanography, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology) across CT State Community College campuses. Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses per approved descriptions and schedules, evaluating and assessing student learning outcomes, providing student support and mentoring, developing and periodically updating instructional materials, and maintaining accurate student records. Courses may be taught on-ground, online (synchronous or asynchronous), or in hybrid formats; incumbents can teach up to 8 credits per semester within the CSCC system. Minimum qualifications require a Master’s degree or equivalent in the subject area, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; preferred qualifications include teaching experience (24+ credits) and experience with online instruction tools (e.g., Blackboard). Additional requirements include undergoing a Department of Corrections background check and VIP safety training. The position is a part-time, adjunct role with continuous recruitment and per-course compensation of $2,112 per contact/credit hour ($6,336 for a 3-credit course), located at CT State CC—Multiple campuses with hybrid work modalities.
