Job Summary
Part-time Leasing Consultant responsible for marketing the community, leasing apartments, handling applications, credit and income verifications, background checks, and renewals. Roles include store-front service to residents and prospects, Fair Housing compliance, outside marketing under supervision, and coordination of move-in processes. Daily duties encompass greeting prospects, showing apartments, following up on leads, entering data into Entrata, maintaining lease files, and coordinating with maintenance. Requires strong customer service, sales, negotiation, communication, organization, and ability to work weekends/overtime; proficiency with Entrata and Microsoft Word/Excel; educational background includes a Bachelor's degree preferred or a High School diploma/GED with related experience.

- Professional and enthusiastic demeanor resulting from sales, leasing, marketing, and customer service experience
- Able to demonstrate a positive attitude and to enthusiastically and effectively communicate the benefits of the apartment community to prospective students, their parents, and University personnel
- Excellent customer service, sales, and negotiation skills
- Good communication and listening skills
- Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Able to read and understand lease documents
- Able to be an effective team player and interact well with others
- Organized and detail oriented
- Patient, even-tempered and works well under pressure
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, legal correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, percentage, discounts, and pro-rations
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Effective time management skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Able to follow directions from a supervisor
- Able to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures
- Able to accept constructive criticism
- Able to work weekends or overtime as job requires
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge in Entrata preferred
