Job Summary
Conduct weekly 50-minute counseling sessions with a caseload of 1–5 clients and oversee assigned group counseling. Maintain up-to-date client files, EMR referrals, and discharge summaries while preparing materials for all sessions. Participate in case conferences with mental health professionals, crisis interventions, and recreational activities. Communicate with probation, parole, vocational rehabilitation, and social service agencies as needed. Prepare monthly statistical reports and complete written assignments. Pursue BSW, BA, MSW, or LSW while completing 100 hours of supervised clinical training.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be pursuing BSW, BA (counseling), MSW, LSW, licensing
- Required to complete 100 hours during the course of at study GEO MHCS
- 40/50 hours can include direct individual and group counseling services
- 60/50 indirect hours performing other activities related to the student's work at GEO MHCS
- Individual clinical supervision (face-to-face) for MSW students will be conducted by a LCSW
- BA, BSW student's supervision will be conducted by an LSW
- Some knowledge or experience in Individual and Group counseling process
- Knowledge of local and county social service agencies
- Good to excellent written and oral communications skills
- Must serve as an appropriate role model
- Must function as part of a team
