Job Summary
Assist individuals with behavioral and developmental disabilities in Activities of Daily Living including personal hygiene, toileting, grooming, and daily movement. Maintain clean environments, provide transportation to community activities, and ensure the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents. Encourage independent care skill development while documenting all care in accordance with state requirements and Petit's HALO protocols. Represent the organization professionally with families, support coordinators, and state officials. This role supports a young individual with high support needs in a residential home in Stafford, Virginia, Monday through Friday from 6am to 9am. A valid driver's license, ability to lift 50lbs, and two years of experience working with developmental disabilities are required.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience working directly with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities
- Valid driver's license and clear driving record
- Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50lbs
- English language proficiency
- Proficiency using electronic devices such as tablets and computers for email and word processing activities
- Basic math skills
- High school diploma
- Successful completion of a drug test
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children and teenagers
- Experience with Quickmar or other assisted living software
