Job Summary
Part-time HR Manager (Organisational Development) leading and delivering L&D initiatives at Reading Students’ Union. Responsible for developing and implementing an L&D strategy aligned with organisational objectives; designing and delivering training sessions, blended learning programs, inductions, probation support, and leadership development; managing performance appraisal frameworks, PDPs, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning; budgeting for training, engaging external providers, ensuring compliance, and driving change management and employee engagement. Works with diverse teams including commercial venues, nursery staff, career staff, student-staff, interns and apprentices; requires CIPD Level 5 and a strong track record in HR/OD/L&D, plus a proactive, strategic, and innovative mindset. Location: Reading, United Kingdom; office-based; fixed-term, 12 months; pro rata salary based on FT equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5
- Significant experience as an HR Manager/OD/L&D specialist
- Designing and delivering training programs (including management and leadership development)
- Developing induction programs and supporting probation processes
- Performance management frameworks (training needs analysis, appraisals, PDPs, coaching, succession planning)
- Leading change management initiatives and employee engagement activities
- Working with LMS platforms and digital learning tools
- Working with external training providers
- Creating processes—not just following them—driving innovation and efficiency
