Job Summary
Sort laundry and manage linen rotation, perform daily resets including dishes, surfaces, and mudroom organization, and maintain tidy kitchen spaces. Proactively handle household supply orders, unpack groceries, and manage seasonal clothing swaps. Provide light afternoon supervision, pack school lunches, and assist with occasional meal prep and pet care. Maintain the household calendar, track expenses, and coordinate with vendors and the cleaning team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable personal transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Comfort and prior experience working with children of varying ages, including infants and toddlers
- Up to date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines
- Must be able to maintain a smoke-free environment
- Must be available for core hours 1:00-5:00/6:00pm daily
- Must be available for 20-25 hours per week
- Must be available for occasional date night childcare
- Must be available for backup drop-off or pickup support on a rare basis
- Must be available for occasional travel as the other parent leads a company and works in the office most of the week
- Must be able to handle miscellaneous errands including returns, exchanges, occasional dry cleaning, and gift shopping
- Must be able to manage household supply lists and place orders at Costco, Heinen's, and Target
- Must be able to unpack orders and restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
- Must be able to pack school lunches and snacks for the following day
- Must be able to help with occasional ingredient prep for dinners or monitor items in the oven
- Must be able to process produce upon arrival (wash, cut, and store)
- Must be able to deep clean refrigerator weekly
- Must be mindful of dietary preferences including one parent being vegetarian
- Must be able to provide light afternoon supervision including taking a child for a walk during homework time or staying with napping children
- Must be able to serve as a flexible, second set of hands as the family welcomes a new baby in the fall
- Must be able to identify other deep cleaning needs and flag for cleaning team or handle during downtime
- Must be able to manage outdoor seasonal transitions including bringing out and cleaning kids' toys and gear at the start of each season
- Must be able to add scoop of food a few times per week and refresh water daily for a dog
- Must be able to let dog in and out of fenced yard as needed
- Must be able to monitor and reorder pet food and supplies when running low
- Must be able to maintain awareness of the household calendar via the Skylight display
- Must be able to track receipts and expenses related to on-the-job purchases
- Must be willing to undergo a background check
Desired Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
- Experience with swim, sports, and after-school activities
- Experience managing laundry rotation including wash, organize, and maintain regular cadence for towels and bedding
- Experience with mudroom reset including tidying, vacuuming with wet vac, and mini fridge restocking
- Experience managing garage space including weekly reset and ensuring children's bikes and gear are properly stored
- Experience with seasonal clothing swaps and rotations
- Experience coordinating donation drop-offs
- Experience proactively changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors
- Experience acting as point of contact for vendors and service providers
- Experience managing household organizational systems that can evolve as family needs change
- Experience with daily resets and light tidying including dishes, surfaces, high-traffic vacuuming, trash, and toy pickup
- Experience completing a dedicated organizational project each week including closets, toy storage, and activity gear
- Experience breaking down boxes for recycling
- Experience monitoring and bringing in packages when family is away
- Experience with Proactive and solutions-oriented problem solving
