Job Summary
Teach up to three students daily in person during after-school and evening shifts, covering physics, chemistry, biology, and advanced math concepts. Follow Oxford Learning methodologies to guide students through kinematics, atomic theory, cells, and calculus while completing post-lesson notes and providing daily communication updates. Maintain a friendly, enthusiastic manner to help learners build confidence and critical thinking skills. This part-time role requires a Vulnerable Sector Screening and is in-person at the Oakville location, with a preference for candidates committed until June 2027.
Required Qualifications
- A Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering, Science, or related discipline)
- Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Ontario teaching certification
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Grades 9–12 curriculum in one or more of the listed subjects
- Confidence teaching Physics concepts including Kinematics and dynamics, Forces and motion, Energy and work, Waves and optics, Electricity and magnetism
- Confidence teaching Chemistry concepts including Atomic theory, Chemical reactions, Stoichiometry, Solutions, Organic chemistry
- Confidence teaching Biology concepts including Cells, Genetics, Evolution, Human systems, Ecology
- Confidence teaching Advanced Math concepts including Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Algebra, Trigonometry, Exponential and logarithmic functions
- Ability to teach multiple senior science and/or math subjects
- Experience teaching or tutoring Grades 9–12 science and/or advanced math (or equivalent)
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and confidently
- Ability to multitask while working with up to three students at a time
- Availability for after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
- Availability for some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)
- Commitment until the end of the school year in June 2027

- Ability to commute to the Oakville location
- In-person availability (not online)
- Residence in or within a short commute of the Oakville area
Desired Qualifications
- Continuing through the summer and into the following school year
