Job Summary
Teach up to three students simultaneously as an Interactive Coach during after-school and evening shifts, following pre-planned Oxford Learning methodologies. Deliver instruction in both online and in-person formats while filling post-lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates. Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor to help students build self-confidence and overcome academic hurdles. This in-person role requires commuting to the Unionville location and includes mandatory vulnerable sector screening. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or relevant certification with experience in Grade 9 to 12 English, with teaching certification and social studies knowledge as assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Good knowledge of the current Grade 9 to Grade 12 English curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring English at a Grade 9 to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:30pm)
- Work Saturdays (9:00am - 1:30pm)
- Commitment until the end of the school year
